The DSA House System
Building Pride, Leadership & Community
At Dickens Sanomi Academy, we believe every student deserves to feel seen, supported, and celebrated. One of the most powerful ways we bring that belief to life is through our House System—introduced in 2017 and inspired by our founder’s experience at a boarding school in Nigeria.
More than friendly competition, the House System is a community within a community. It’s designed to:
- Strengthen school spirit
- Promote leadership and positive behavior
- Build mentorship between students and staff
- Recognize character, not just academics
Let the House Pride Begin
Every student and staff member belongs to one of our four Houses. Staff members serve as House Captains, and each House is led by two student House Prefects. Together, they bring energy, unity, and purpose to our school community.
How It Works
Throughout the school year, students and staff earn points for their House through:
- House Games (Quarterly): Relay races, trivia battles, team sports, art challenges, and more!
- Positive Behavior: Showing kindness, following rules, and leading by example.
- Academic Effort: Growth, hard work, and classroom leadership earn tokens.
- House Spirit: Wearing House colors, participating in chants, and encouraging teammates.
New for 2025–2026: The House Token System
This year, we’re making your House pride visible!
- Each House has a token bucket on campus
- Students earn tokens for positive actions and staff recognition
- Weekly token counts go toward the House Points Board
- The House with the most points at the end of each quarter gets a celebration!
