Juliet E. Sanomi 

Principal/ CEO



An experienced teacher for over 20 years, with a bachelor's degree in Arts and Education from the university of Jos, Nigeria. She lived in London, England for over 7 years and while in London, taught primary education at a Christian school and also worked as a social worker. Juliet is also a mother of a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder. In addition to DSA, she is also the owner of the DSA Enrichment Center, an after school program in Broward County. 

Woody Gracia

Director of Administration/COO


Woody Gracia has experience in both business and education. After attending Oakwood University in Alabama, he began working as a financial advisor and banker. After 4 years in the financial industry, he later developed an interest in education, in which he has 9 years of experience. Woody has a passion for working with children. He believes the responsibility of raising a child goes beyond the home, but also falls on the school in which the child attends and the community at large. 

Harlens Michell

Director of Communications/ Community Programs


Harlens has a B.S. in Psychology, a M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy, (both earned at NSU), and over 10 years of experience working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in various settings, including the home, school and the community. His goal can be summed up by a personal quote, "given the right environment, an encouraging support system, and an atmosphere of love, those that society has given up on can strive to do the unimaginable!


Ese Jack

Development Director/CFO

A Certified Public Accountant, Ese spent the first 11 years of her career at a big four accounting firm specializing in assurance and advisory services. She subsequently worked in the private sector as a financial analyst for an oil and gas entity. In 2007, she established her accounting practice serving small and mid-sized companies as a financial and business consultant. Her desire to work for social impact has led her to DSA.


Nicky Bandoo

Office Manager

Nicky Bandoo began with Dickens Sanomi Academy during its inception. After a brief stint away, she returned as Office Manager. Nicky has provided the organizational structure necessary to manage a successful school. She believes that all children have the ability to succeed in some capacity, as long as we tap into their gift.



Yannerys Mullins-Rogers

ESE Specialist/Reading Specialist

Mrs. Mullins-Rogers holds a M.S. in Reading, and a B.S. in Exceptional Student Education. She has been involved in education for eight years, both as a classroom teacher and as an ESE Support Facilitator in Broward County Public Schools. She believes that education is key to the empowerment of children and one way to achieve that is through strong parent/guardian partnerships. She is married to a teacher and has three wonderful children.



Ellie Munoz

Middle School Program Director/ Middle School Teacher

Ms. Ellie Munoz's experience includes: almost 20 years teaching in both the private and public sector. Her credentials include: a Bachelor's of Science, B.S. in Education (K-5), Master of Education M.Ed.  in Exceptional Student Education  (K-12), certifications in Early Childhood Education and Florida State Teacher Certification. She is happily married for over 30 years and has three wonderful grown children, Jocelyn, Jacklyn and Joey. 


Gillian Love

Middle School Teacher


Gillian Love has been teaching for 13 years and mentoring special education students for 18 years. She is a University of Miami graduate. She believes that it is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge. Gillian is also a two-time Olympian for the great country of Jamaica.


Fabia Wilson

Elementary School Teacher

Fabia Wilson studied Special Education in Jamaica where she majored in Learning Disabilities. She’s had the privilege of teaching in 3 different countries, Jamaica for 8 years, the Bahamas for 12 years, where she was recruited by the Bahamian government to teach special needs kids, and the US. She is grateful for her experiences as it taught her how to teach and interact with students from varying backgrounds and disciplines. She has learned that students do not care how much you know, until they know how much you care.


Shaniqua Hunt

Elementary School Teacher


As a FIU Alumni, Ms. Hunt has  received a Degree in Elementary Education. She worked as a SPED teacher in a Self-Contained ASD setting for two years. Ms. Hunt has a true passion and devotion for teaching. It is her life purpose to illuminate the world, by crafting the minds of our young while in-turn having a direct positive impact on the  future. 


Marcia Burton

Elementary School Teacher


Marcia Burton is from the beautiful island of Jamaica, where she's taught for over 25 years. She studied at the Mico University, where she specialized in primary education. Since migrating to the USA, she joined the Dickens Sanomi Academy family. She has a passion for children and strongly believes that knowledge is power; hence empowering young minds is what she does best!


Rosa Wilson

Elementary School Teacher


Rosa acquired her Bachelor of Science in Professional Management and Master of Science in Education- Curriculum, Instruction & Technology. She has educated children with academic and developmental challenges for the past 6 years. She consistently inspires and motivates her students utilizing creative, innovative strategies and techniques which intrigues student interest in learning. 


Melodie Plaise

High School Teacher

Melodie Plaise earned a Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Psychology, as well as a Master’s Degree (M.S.) in clinical psychology from Barry University. She is currently a Florida Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern while pursuing a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) in Counseling with a specialization in Marital, Couple, and Family Counseling. Melodie is passionate about learning, teaching, helping others, and making a difference in the world. In her spare time, she enjoys crafting, photography, reading, meditating, and advocating for global freedom, equity, justice, and peace.

Allison Sybron

Elementary School Teacher

Allison Sybron earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at Florida Atlantic University. She plans on pursuing her Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis. In addition to teaching at DSA, she is also a Registered Behavior Technician, and currently works with children who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD). She believes that working with children with ASD is her calling whether that may be in a classroom setting while teaching, or as a Behavioral Analyst.

Brianna Scott

NEST Teacher

Brianna Scott earned a Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Psychology from Florida International University, where her primary study of focus was Behavior. After which, she went on to pursue her Master’s Degree in Education focusing on Autism Studies and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) from Ball State University. Her primary motivation is seeing young minds; no matter the circumstance; learn and grow! Her motto is: While you have life, you can learn!!


Flavia Anderson

Elementary School Teacher

Flavia Anderson earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Administration and her Master of Arts in Business Education both at the University of Phoenix. She has over 7 years of teaching experience in Elementary Education & ESOL Adult Education. Her philosophy and core beliefs are rooted in the principles of collaboration, guidance, leadership and advocacy. She is committed to providing a progressive learning community that maximizes the potential of her students with unique academic, cognitive, social, and emotional needs.

Katherine Martinez

Elementary School Teacher

Katherine Martinez graduated from Mount Saint Mary's University with a Bachelors in Psychology, emphasis in Child and Adolescent Behavior. She is currently attending Nova Southeastern University pursuing a Master's Degree in marriage and family therapy. Katherine teaches kindergarten with children with ASD, while also working part-time as a Mental Health Technician with at risk youth. Her motivation always derives from children and their ability to shape the world with their bright minds.


Herlie Wilbanks

Specials Teacher


Herlie is obtaining her B.S. in Psychology.  In 2003 she graduated from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale major in Fashion Design. In 2009  Hermilia Yves, Inc was established. She has been designing clothing for many prominent figures. Because of her love of children, she volunteered at Westview Middle School for three year as a teacher's assistant.  She loves to share her skill of sewing and art.
